 Challenge

PAW Companies, Bayonet Point, Fla., was founded in 1983 with one truck and a vision. Since its inception as a contract hauling
operation, PAW has prospered into three solid companies: PAW Trucking, PAW Materials and Fleet Tech Truck Parts and Service
Center, all of which have earned a solid reputation for customer service and leadership in their respective fields.
"Since 1983, we have grown our company starting with one thing: a solid work ethic," said Rick Wohlfiel, company president.
"As our trucking business developed, we saw a lot of items filling our landfills that we felt could be recycled. With that
idea we created PAW Materials Inc. in 1998, which now produces in the range of 8-9 million tons of materials per year."
With the MTR 40 from Allied-Gator, PAW is able to undertake a challenging project.

The company currently operates two portable plants, a 4260 Stedman Grand Slam and a Terex Pegson SR42. "These two plants give
us the ability to easily move between commercial and industrial sites, and heavy construction or demolition, with no loss
in production" Wohlfiel said.
Taking 'er downDemolition is a thriving area for PAW Materials. "We are proud to be able to take buildings that have become an eyesore and
improve the landscape as well as help the environment with our recycling efforts," Wohlfiel said.
Allied-Gator offers 11 sizes of the MT Series Multi-Tool, from the MTR 5 to the MTR 180.

A recent job provided PAW Materials with the opportunity to showcase the productive capabilities of one of its newest pieces
of equipment: the innovative Allied-Gator MTR 40 with the Shear Jaw Set. "We did a lot of research into multi-jaw products
on the market, and decided that the MT Series Multi-Tool was the right one for us," Wohlfiel said. "It is well designed, has
excellent strength and is interchangeable, which is something I am always looking for in order to create flexibility in our
operations."
One of the critical components that PAW wanted was the ability to achieve both power and strength at peak height. "We needed
to use the shear jaw at the top end of 55 ft.," Wohlfiel said. "The Allied-Gator product does not lose its strength or power
at that height, and that really impresses us."
The challenging project undertaken by PAW Materials was the demolition of a former Cemex quarry plant. The steel girders and
plant infrastructure made a formidable opponent, but the Allied-Gator MTR 40 was up to the challenge.

"The MTR 40 proved to be the right product for the job," Wohlfiel said. "This is a very capital-intensive business. The products
and equipment we put in place often make the difference between doing a job efficiently and dragging it out longer than necessary."
PAW uses the MTR 40 with both its Caterpillar 325 (mounted second member) and 345 excavator (mounted third member).
Wohlfiel said the company's experienced equipment operators get the most of the equipment they operate. "Hal Merrick, Brian
Cardinal and Alan Pendalton are all trained and proficient on the machine," Wohlfiel said. "We pride ourselves in the ability
of our employees to get the job done right."
